Our Story
Born from a community dialogue
The Revitalize Belait Project was established as a direct outcome of the roundtable dialogue with the Belait business community on 12 December 2024, hosted by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), and chaired by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah — the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Minister of Finance and Economy II, and Chairman of BEDB.
Since formation, the group has actively sought community feedback on economic diversification opportunities via an online survey launched in March 2025, through the dedicated Revitalize Belait social media page.
With BEDB support, the group organised the Opportunity Framing Workshop on 25 June 2025 to map new opportunities for Belait District's economic growth — bringing together local businesses, NGOs, government agencies, industry leaders, and Belait youth including new MSMEs. The workshop explored 7 focus areas emphasising sustainability and revenue generation, aligned with Brunei's Economic Blueprint.
